Bereavement and Loss Counselling in Stourbridge

Bereavement and loss counselling helps people to deal with the grief and loss that comes from losing someone or something. The pain and anguish of losing someone you love can be excruciating and bereavement counselling can help you understand your emotions and begin to find a way to cope with your loss. The breakdown of a relationship, the loss of a job or a beloved pet can leave us feeling a sense of loss and grief.

What are the benefits of talking to a bereavement & loss counsellor?

One of the main benefits of bereavement counselling is that it allows you to talk about your feelings about your loss and grief with a trained professional who will offer you a safe space to talk through and come to understand your feelings, emotions reactions and responses.

How long does bereavement & loss therapy take to work?

Bereavement and loss counselling doesn't have any particular time frame, the end goal isn't to "get over" your grief, but rather to work through it. This type of counselling helps you to find healthy ways to cope with the loss, including learning how to express your emotions and dealing with your daily routine. It also helps identify and manage behaviours and coping strategies that might become harmful, such as self-medicating or making negative lifestyle choices.

For counselling work to be successful, it is important to me that I provide my clients with a space in which they feel safe and secure. The therapy room has been designed with counselling in mind - comfortable furnishings, neutral colours, calming pictures on the walls and the chirping of birds in the garden.

As well as helping those who are suffering from bereavement & loss, I have also helped people suffering from Anxiety, Depression, and Stress. I also help people with couples therapy and relationship counselling.

Clients who have experienced bereavement and loss counselling in this room have told me that they feel relaxed, safe and at ease and that it has helped them on their therapeutic work. Alongside in-person counselling sessions, I also offer telephone and video-call counselling. Get in touch for more information to discuss the best option for you.
