The Therapy Room in Stourbridge

Whether you have had counselling before or if you are thinking about having therapy for the first time, there may be lots of questions going through your mind before you take that first step with a new therapist. What will counselling with this therapist be like? How will I feel about the process? Where will I have counselling? To try to answer one of these questions, I would like to show you where I see my in-person clients.

My therapy room has recently been purpose-built for my counselling work in the garden of my home. I have tried to make it a peaceful and calming space where I hope clients will feel comfortable and relaxed so that they can talk openly about whatever is on their mind. It is light and airy with furnishings more akin to a comfy lounge as opposed to a more clinical setting. There is also direct external access to the garden and therapy room.

The room has been designed with counselling in mind - comfortable furnishings, neutral colours, calming pictures on the walls and the chirping of birds in the garden. For counselling work to be successful, it is important to me that I provide my clients with a space in which they feel safe and secure.

Clients who have experienced counselling in this room have told me that they feel relaxed, safe and at ease and that it has helped them on their therapeutic work.
